Employee of the Month: Cassandra House
The Facilities Department choose Cassandra House for Employee of the Month for the month of October.
For many years, Cassandra has been a sure and steady source of communication and collaboration between THA, our residents, and our Utility companies. We rely on her to notice when something looks unusual with a utility bill, and to take the initiative and have the perseverance to follow up until she gets answers and finds solutions. She has quietly, and without much fanfare, saved thousands of dollars for the agency each year by consistently identifying variations in meter readings and energy usage, and sternly dispatching either the utility company, or our maintenance crews to go get things sorted out.
During Hurricane Helene, Cassandra was on call 24/7. She was on the phone with TECO and THA staff, working to get power restored to our properties, and to communicate updates back and forth so that residents, Facilities staff, and TECO were always on the same page.
Cassandra's attention to detail, and her insistence on doing the very best job with everything she touches allows us to rely on her and to never be disappointed under normal circumstances, but in a crunch; we continue to be blown away! (pun intended). During Hurricane Helene Cassandra outshone her usual excellent performance. Thank you, Cassandra!
