Employee of the Month: Hector Hernandez
Hector goes above and beyond in serving the community, showing an unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well
being of all residents, staff, and our communities. Just recently, he was instrumental in preventing a serious crime where a
resident's ex-boyfriend assaulted her and her 15-year-old son and had a handgun and was threatening to shoot them. When
Hector rolled up to the scene, he immediately called 911. When the suspect observed Hector's presence, he fled. With Hector's
help, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputies issued a BOLO and were able to apprehend the suspect and place him under
arrest. Hector continually engages our communities and youth by providing them a safe place to play in the courtyards and
basketball courts. Hector is active with the Moses White/Seminole Resident Council and helps them and our Program and
Property Service Department facilitate community events. He has built strong, trusting relationships with community members,
always listening to concerns and proactively addressing issues before they escalate. Hector's professionalism is unmatched,
consistently displaying integrity, fairness, and respect in every interaction. This officer has demonstrated excellent problem solving
abilities, often resolving complex situations with skill, empathy, and a focus on de-escalation. He takes initiative and
leads by example, often mentoring others and fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration within the patrol unit. He
remains calm and vigilant in challenging situations, protecting the community and their fellow officers. Hector's presence in the
community has made a significant positive impact, from reducing crime rates to improving neighborhood morale, contributing
to a safer and more connected community. His dedication to safety is evident in every aspect of his work, consistently
prioritizing residents' security and ensuring all's well-being. Beyond his official duties, Hector shows genuine care and
compassion for our staff and communities, often going the extra mile to help those in need. Hector continues to maintain a high
standard of excellence daily, earning the respect and admiration of his peers, superiors, and the community he serves. Thank
you in advance for considering Hector as our February 2025 EOM
