NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

THE MAINSTREAM VOUCHER RENTAL ASSISTANCE WAITLIST WILL OPEN MARCH 4, 2024 AND WILL CLOSE MARCH 29, 2024

Overview:

The Department of Housing and Urban Development's regulations require Public Housing Agencies to provide public notice by publication in a local newspaper of general circulation and in minority media and other suitable means in accordance with the administrative plan and HUD's fair housing requirements of waitlist openings.  


The mainstream rental assistance waitlist is open ONLY to applicants that are considered nonelderly (age 18-61) and who have a disability. The eligible applicant does not need to be the head of household and can be the member of the household.  The applicant must also be currently experiencing homelessness, or at risk of experiencing homelessness, or at risk of institutionalization, or transitioning out of an institution or other segregated settings or currently participating in a rapid rehousing program.


All eligibility criteria must be verifiable.  Institutionalization refers to the following:

 1. Congregate settings populated exclusively or primarily with individuals with disabilities;

 2. Congregate settings characterized by regimentation in daily activities, lack of privacy or autonomy, policies limiting visitors, or limits on individuals' ability to engage freely in community activities and to manage their own activities of daily living; or

 3. Settings that provide for daytime activities primarily with other individuals with disabilities.  


Applications will be taken online at this link http://portal.thafl.com/Clients/clientHome.aspx starting March 4, 2024, at 8 a.m. and will close March 29, 2024, at 5 p.m. You may register for an account prior to the opening of the waitlist but you will not be able to apply to the waitlist until March 4, 2024, at 8 a.m.  


Eligibility determination will be made at the time of application. Individuals requiring reasonable accommodation to make application in a different manner than the online application, must submit the request in writing prior to March 29, 2024 for review.
