As another year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect and express my gratitude. My message to our residents, employees, partners, and supporters is above all thank you for your dedication, collaboration, and commitment to our mission. Your contributions are vital to everything we achieve at the Tampa Housing Authority.

As we enter a new year, I encourage each of you to look beyond the challenges of today and focus on the dreams that inspire you. Dreams, no matter how large or small, are the seeds of growth, progress, and fulfillment. However, the path to achieving them is often not smooth or easy. It requires resilience, determination, and faith.

It is important to recognize that making mistakes is an inevitable part of pursuing your dreams. Too often, people abandon their aspirations when they encounter difficulties or setbacks. This hesitation is not failure; it is a moment to pause, learn, and adjust. Failure only happens when you stop trying. Each mistake is an opportunity to grow stronger and wiser. Learn from these experiences, refine your approach, and continue to evolve.

When following your dreams, you may encounter critics or naysayers. These voices can be discouraging, but they do not define you or your journey. Wish them well, but do not let their doubts deter you. Your dreams are personal and do not require validation from others. They are for you, not for them. Guard them closely and protect the energy you invest in achieving them.

Avoid the temptation to apologize or argue with others about your aspirations. Your dreams belong to you and reflect your unique potential. Hold onto them with pride and confidence, and let your efforts speak louder than any words.

Achieving dreams requires persistence and hard work. Success does not come overnight. It demands staying the course, even when progress feels slow or setbacks occur. Trust the process and maintain focus. Every step forward, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goal.

Faith is also a critical component of achieving your dreams. None of us can succeed alone. Stay in constant prayer about your aspirations and seek divine guidance to keep you grounded and inspired. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and help you stay focused on what truly matters.

Mentors play a significant role in helping you realize your dreams. A good mentor can provide encouragement, constructive feedback, and valuable perspective. However, be discerning when choosing someone to guide you. Your mentor should support your vision and challenge you to grow, without envy or negativity. The right mentor will be a steady source of wisdom and encouragement on your journey.

As you prepare for the new year, I urge you to reflect on your own dreams. If you have not identified them yet, take time to explore what inspires you and what you hope to achieve. Whether your dream is to advance in your career, support your family, or give back to the community, pursue it with courage and determination.

To our Tampa Housing Authority family, thank you for another year of shared success and meaningful work. As we move forward together, let us each continue striving for our individual and collective dreams. May your holidays be filled with peace and joy, and may the new year bring you closer to achieving everything you envision.

Wishing you a blessed and prosperous year ahead.
